The Culture Action Europe conference has a long established tradition as the key focal point for operators, activists and campaigners as well as leading figures of the European institutions to get together and debate key issues at stake for Europe’s future. Hosted by the extraordinary premises of the Architecture Faculty of the 3rd University of Rome, resulting from the rehabilitation of a former slaughterhouse situated in the core of the city centre, this year’s conference will inspire, argue and debate the vital role of individual and social cultural capacities in building a way out of the deadlock that threatens Europe, its people and democracy. With an intensive programme, organised on the basis of cross-sectorial thematics and including highly interactive formats, as well as the contribution of top level thinkers and decision-makers, the conference will generate a common basis for coordinating political engagement and activism. It will also provide the main components for the CAE network’s 5-year action plan, which will be built on an operational model based on members’ direct participation and leadership.
In connection with the conference, Culture Action Europe will organize its Annual General Meeting for members only in Rome, on 3 October (first convocation) and 5 October (second convocation).
